Day 1: Athens – Aegina island
Welcome aboard!
We will meet at the designated meeting point in the morning of the first day, for a boat tour with all the necessary instructions you need to know. After you settle in your cabins, we will set sail to our first destination, Aegina Island, famous for its pistachios.
On our way there, we’ll make a stop at Agia Marina for swimming and dives from the boat! In the afternoon, we’ll reach the quaint fishing village of Perdika, where we will stay overnight. You can walk alongside the small port and enjoy dinner in one of the local fish restaurants.
Day 2: Moni island - Aegina inland tour
The second day, after enjoying breakfast on board, we will sail towards the tiny uninhabited island of Moni. Once there, you will enjoy swimming & snorkeling in the turquoise crystal clear waters or go hiking through its pristine pine forest and come across beautiful deer and peacocks!
In the afternoon, we will reach the port of Aegina and we will take an exciting tour in Aegina inland and explore some of its hidden gems! We will first visit the temple of Aphaea, located on a pine – clad hill at the northeast side of the island. It is the most important monument in the sanctuary of Aphaea, dating back to 500 BC.
Next comes the impressive Monastery of Saint Nektarios, one of the biggest of the Balkans. Behind the monastery lies the island’s Mystras and also former capital, Paleachora. We will follow the hiking trails to explore this abandoned “ghost town” with its numerous byzantine churches and enjoy the panoramic views over the Saronic Gulf.
Once we return back to the port of Aegina, you will be free to visit Aegina town, walk through its alleys with the charming shops or alongside the picturesque port, admire the beautiful neoclassical buildings and enjoy a cup of iced coffee.
If you are a history aficionado, we also recommend you to visit the Temple of Apollo at the archaeological site of Kolona, which lies at a walking distance from the port. Once there, do not miss the chance to visit the Archaeological Museum, the first one to have ever been built in Greece (in 1829). You can enjoy your dinner in one of the coastal restaurants and also enjoy drinks in one of Aegina’s numerous bars along the port!
Tips: do not forget to buy some fresh fruits and vegetables from the floating groceries (traditional boats in the port selling fruits & vegetables), which you can enjoy on board and of course, fresh raw plain or roasted local pistachios!
Day 3: Agkistri – Athens
The third and last day, we will sail away to the small verdant island of Agkistri, known as the closest to Athens natural paradise. We’ll enjoy the rest of our day diving from the boat, swimming and relaxing in this pristine landscape.
You will enjoy lunch on board, before we take our way back to Athens, which we will reach in the evening (by 18:00pm) and this is where our wonderful sailing adventure ends.

Tour Reviews
Where should I begin… This 2 day sailing trip in the Saronic is the exact city escape you need if you visit Athens. I honestly had a great experience and chance to see (and swim in) shores that I wouldn’t believe they exist so close to Athens. I would totally recommend it not only to tourists coming from abroad but even locals that want to see another aspect of the wider area. Great food, fun people, 100% value for money!
This 3 day sailing tour was the best city break we could choose from Athens! We never thought we could find such beautiful places and turquoise waters so close to Athens! The crew was fantastic, they treated us as if we were their friends, they showed us all the hidden secrets in Aegina island and we had the chance to see a shipwreck just from the water surface. The homemade food we ate on board was also one of the tour highlights. We will definitely choose Trails Beyond on our next trip to Greece and we highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Athens as a short yet fantastic getaway!
